Investigators with the Boulder Police Department are still looking into whether an RTD bus driver may have been responsible for causing a fatal hit-and-run accident this past Thursday evening. According to initial police reports, a 62-year-old man was found dead at the south exit of the Walnut Street transit center just before 9 pm on Thursday November 6th.

Law enforcement officials first became aware of the fatality when someone in the loading area of the transit center found the body and contacted police. Reportedly, there are unconfirmed reports that, earlier in the evening, an RTD bus driver told a reporter that a pedestrian was killed in this south exit area.

BPD Asking for Help from the Public to Obtain Justice after this Fatal Hit-and-Run

To date, no arrests have been made in this fatal hit-and-run, and the investigation remains open. Boulder law enforcement officials are urging the public to report any information they may have related to this fatal hit-and-run accident so that justice can brought to the family of the deceased victim in this accident.

People can anonymously report what they know by calling Northern Colorado Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.

If Boulder investigators do eventually obtain the key information necessary to identifying, tracking down and arresting the perpetrator of this fatal hit-and-run, the family may also be able to seek justice by filing a wrongful death suit in civil court against the negligent motorist.

Although no amount of money can ever make up for the loss of a loved one in a fatal hit-and-run accident, seeking justice through a wrongful death case can provide grieving families with the financial resources they may need to appropriately put their loved one to rest.
